2004/2005 Public Awareness Program

 

AIM

 

·        To foster awareness about individual/family emergency preparedness and public safety risks in the event of an emergency.

 

 

OBJECTIVES

 

·        Develop an easily accessible and informative awareness program for residents, businesses and all municipal staff

·        Increase awareness of the community’s emergency response plan, including where it can be viewed by the public, and who to contact for more information about the emergency management program

·        Ensure residents are aware of the various means of emergency notification such as local radio stations, television stations and the print media

·        Inform residents and businesses about individual and family emergency preparedness and promote the 3-day (72-hour) survival kit Brochure

·        Residents (permanent and seasonal)

·        Businesses (commercial, industrial, institutional)

·        Township Staff

·        Visitors

BUDGET

 

Total budget is $2,500.00

 

 

SUPPLY AND MAINTENANCE

 

·        The municipal webmaster will update information as instructed by the CEMC

·        Brochures to be stored in the Municipal Office at 1713 Hwy #11 Sundridge

·        Chris Ellis will be responsible for ensuring that supplies are maintained and replenished as needed

·        More brochures can be ordered from the Municipal Office 384 5819

 

ANNUAL REVIEW

 

·        The public awareness program will be reviewed annually each February by the Emergency Management Program Committee
