Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve amendments to the Road Employee Policy Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby give first reading to the New Procedure By-law Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby support the resolution circulated by the Township of Armour dated November 12th 2002 #34, that petitions the Minister of Finance to intervene and repair the damage Futures has done to the Ontario Municipal Property Assessment and to bring forward a plan to restore local assessment expertise and to restore good working relationships between Assessment Staff and Municipal Staff. Carried
Council reviewed the letter from DSSAB regarding the surplus that is being returned to the municipalities.
Be it resolved that this council does hereby confirm that the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, Capital Assistance to Enhance Northern Communities Application #25175 is retroactive to June 2002 to include the OSTAR Bridge project for part funding. The Township of Strong council does also confirm that they commit financially to the project with their share being 66,700 representing 25% of the projects listed. Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby confirm that the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, Capital Assistance to Enhance Northern Communities Application #25175 for funding a New Fire Truck is a project that is applied for jointly with the Village of Sundridge. The Township of Strong will act as lead municipality on the condition that the Village of Sundridge commits $75,000 of their funding allocation to the Fire Truck and that they will contribute a further $25,000 to complete their one half of the costs of the Fire Truck. Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby support the proposal of Almaguin Highlands Detachment for a General Increase in compliment to provide 24 hour patrol coverage to the detachment area and that this is the same coverage as other municipalities in the Province currently policed by the OPP. Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby authorize the following to attend the Regional Projects for the Almaguin Highlands seminar at South River on Nov. 27 from 11:45 to 4:30 pm for Stephen Rawn and Christine Ellis Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve payment of the mileage expense to Orillia as submitted by Joly Twp in the amounts of $28.03 Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve payment of the 2003 membership renewal to the Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers $556.40 Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve payment of the Fire Department costs to October 2002 in the amount of $37,417.50 Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve payment of the Recreation Department costs to October 2002 in the amount of $5000 Carried
Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve payment of the Library 2001 over expenditure in the amount of $2112.24 Carried
Council reviewed a letter regarding Harvest Share Community Food Programs; AHIC; Strong Ecology Centre Consultants Study and recommendations. Drainage at Crescent Rd; Skateboard in Sundridge; Medical Centre Assessment; Lights on the Bell Mobility Towers.
