Be it resolved that this council does hereby adopt the minutes as circulated:

q     South River – Sundridge Airport meeting of Nov. 20 and Feb. 19. 03

John Newstead – Shawn Eddison

Be it resolved that this council does hereby support the Community Pride Poster for our area. There is no cost or obligation to the Municipality for the Poster that is to be produced by Skylar Canada.  We also give permission to Skylar Canada to use the Township Logo and Contact Information on the Poster.                                             Carried

 

John Newstead is to attend a POA Meeting in Parry Sound Feb 28 03 at 1 pm at the firehall upper meeting room.

Be it resolved that this council does hereby approve payment of the Fire department expenses as billed by the Village of Sundridge in the amount of $12,863.80                Carried

 

Council reviewed correspondence from MTO re:  Agricultural  Grounds Drainage Study;  MNR re;  Firearms by-laws; Smith Hardy Miller re:  Layolomi Rd;  Muskoka-Parry Sound Health Unit – Beach Water Testing that John & Chris are to attend.

Be it resolved that this council does hereby enact by-law 2003 – 1463 being the Waste Disposal By-law having given third and final reading of the by-law.                Carried

 

Council reviewed the Operating Budget for 2003 to ensure their committee needs are included in the draft budget.

Be it resolved that this council does hereby amend the wage by-law as directed by council.  Carried

Be it resolved that this council does hereby support the proposal that Assessment Services be extended to private-sector competition in the property assessment field as Proposed by John Hogg of Cole, Layer, Trumble Canada Inc.,  Carried

 

Council reviewed the correspondence from Royal Poulin, Chair of the Nuisance Bear Review Committee and the clerk is to provide information from our records on Nuisance Bears.  Council reviewed a request to consider the “Mail in Vote” for the upcoming Municipal Election and decided that the costs were prohibitive.   Council reviewed a letter regarding exchange of unopened allowance for road for deed for the travelled portion of Pevensey Road.  Council agreed with the request and the clerk will notify the client of their responsibilities.

 

Council reviewed upcoming by-laws to be enacted for Tax Ratios;  Fire Dept. Agreements etc.

 

Reeve Rawn read a letter from the Almaguin Music Festival committee and council agreed to Send in the Township Logo for display on the Letterhead for the Festival Committee.
