COUNCIL MEETING AND PUBLIC MEETING

MARCH 13TH 2007

Held at the Township office at 5:30 pm

There were no pecuniary interests declared on the agenda material

 

Chris Ellis called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adopt the following minutes as circulated:

-          Council meeting of Feb.27.07

-          Central Almaguin Planning Board meeting of Feb.21.07

-          Central Almaguin Economic Development meeting of Feb.20.07

-          Joint Building Committee meeting of Feb.22.07 and Financial Status

-          Sundridge Strong Recreation Meeting – March 1st 2007

-          Sundridge Strong Fire Board Meeting – March 7th 2007                                                Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve payment of the following accounts:

Roads a/c for February $66,223.15

Municipal A/c for Feb  $67,183.77

Payroll a/c’s for Feb.    $34,975.14                                                                                                                                  Carried

 

Merlyn Snow – Vi Montpetit

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve the recommendations of the Joint Building Committee for the Wage & Benefit Package for the CBO as follows:  $65,000 June 1/07;  $67,500  Jan 1/08 and $70,000 June 1/08.  Duties to include zoning.                Recorded Vote:  Yea:  Chris Ellis; Merlyn Snow; Vi Montpetit  Against:  Scott McLaren                                Carried

 

The Public meeting concluded with no guests present and the by-law was presented for enactment.

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby enact by-law #2007 1542 being a by-law to stop up close & convey to adjoining owners part of the Original Shoe Road Allowance fronting their property and having read the by-law the required readings.

Merlyn Snow - Scott McLaren

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby authorize that Sharon Sohm be registered for the Municipal Act/Bill 130 training to be held March 29th 2007 from 9 am to 4:30 pm – fee is $104.94 Carried

 

Scott McLaren – Vi Montpetit

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby authorize an adjustment for the 2006 taxes for buildings removed from the property and recommendations from MPAC as follows:

Roll 4946 008 027 038 w/o $49,000 $417.42 (General) and $121.21 (Schools) – Total $538.63

Roll 4946 007 005 020 w/o $43,000 $312.75 (General) and $ 90.82 ( Schools) – Total $403.57                   Carried

 

Council reviewed the Budget Planning meeting held recently and also committee reports.
