The CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG

BY-LAW 2007  -  1556

 

BEING a by-law to adopt a Notice Policy

 

 

 

WHEREAS Section 270 (1) (4) of the Revised Municipal Act 2001 requires all municipalities to adopt and maintain policies for the giving of Notice to the Public;

 

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong has established policies to provide notice in the Procedural by-law 1545 as well as those listed below;

 

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong DOES HEREBY ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

  1. That the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong does hereby continue to use the established Notice policy dated January 1st 2005 under by-law 1545 and
  2. Any change in general policy - the notice will be in the form of an ad in the local paper 14 days prior to the change; a notice in the coming events of our Web Page; and in our annual newsletter.
  3. Council Meeting Agenda is posted in the Coming Events of our Web page 6 days before the meeting.  The council meeting minutes are posted on the Web page within 2 days of the meeting.
  4. Municipal By-laws are posted on the Web page within 2 days of being enacted.
  5. That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby given the authority to sign the by-law
  6. That the effective date of the Notice Policy is January 1st 2008
