THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG

BY – LAW #2007 – 1543

 

 

 

BEING a By-law to increase or decrease the speed of motor

vehicle from Statutory Speed Limits

 

WHEREAS subsection 128(2) of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O.  1990, CH8 authorizes the Council of a municipality; namely:  The Corporation of the Township of Strong by by-law to prescribe a speed limit of 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 kilometers per hour for motor vehicles driven on any highway or portion of highway under its jurisdiction;

 

AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the speed of motor vehicles on certain highways in the Corporation of the Township of Strong be restricted;

 

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong HEREBY ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1.                  When any highway or portion of Highway set out below is marked with signs in compliance with the Regulation under the Highway Traffic Act the maximum rate of speed thereon shall be 50 kilometers per hour

2.                  The Penalties provided in subsection 128 (14) of the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law.
