THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG

BY-LAW #2005 – 1499

BEING a By-law to appoint a Full Time Fire Chief

For the Township of Strong Fire Department

WHEREAS Section 6 (1) Part II of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 provides that the Council of a municipality shall appoint a Fire Chief for the Fire Department;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong have enacted by-law #97 – 1357 to establish a Fire Department and;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong has considered a By-law to establish the Position of Full Time Fire Chief for the Department;

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong Enacts as follows:

1. That the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong hereby Appoints S. Wayne Beavis as the Full Time Fire Chief for the Fire Department effective April 1^st, 2005 and he shall not be discharged without just cause and only after a hearing before council.

2. That by-law #2001-1422 is hereby repealed.
