THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG

BY-LAW 2003 - 1474

 

 

TO APPOINT A TREASURER, DEPUTY-CLERK

 

 

WHEREAS Section 228(2),  286(1) and 288  of the Municipal Act, SO 2001 C25, Part VI requires the Council to appoint a Treasurer and a Deputy-Clerk;

 

AND WHEREAS Section 290; 291; 292; 293; 294; 295 299 and 301 of the Municipal Act, S0 2001 C25, Part VI outlines the statutory duties of the Treasurer;

 

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong does hereby enact as follows:

 

1.                  Sharon Sohm is hereby appointed Treasurer and Deputy – Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of Strong

2.                  In Addition to the duties required to be performed under any Statute, Sharon Sohm shall perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by resolution or by-law of Council.

3.                  Sharon Sohm shall be paid a Salary (32.5 hrs per week)for the remainder of year 2003 and thereafter until such time as a new salary is established. 

4.                  The Salary payable to Sharon Sohm under Section 3 shall be payment in full for all services and duties performed as Treasurer and Deputy-Clerk.  Any and all fees collected by virtue of the office of Treasurer and Deputy – Clerk or any Act or Regulation shall be paid to the Corporation and be credited to the General Funds of the Corporation.

5.                  By-law 99-1399 being a by-law to appoint a Deputy Clerk-Treasurer and Tax Collector is hereby repealed.

6.                  This By-law shall take effect July 1st 2003
