THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG

DRAFT - BY-LAW 2003 – 1469

BEING a by-law to appoint an Auditor

WHEREAS Section 296 of the Municipal Act, 2001, Part VII, requires a municipality to appoint a Municipal Auditor for a term not to exceed five (5) years;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong is satisfied with the performance of their current auditor, Michael D. Turner;

AND WHEREAS Michael D. Turner is Licensed under the Public Accountancy Act;

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. That Michael D. Turner be and is hereby appointed as Municipal Auditor for the Corporation of the Township of Strong

2. That the said Auditor appointed hereunder shall perform duties as are prescribed by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and such duties as may be required by the Council or any Local Board that do not conflict with the duties prescribed by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs including preparation of the material to be published by the Treasurer under Section 295 of the Municipal Act, 2001 Part VII Financial Administration.

3. The Term of the Appointment shall be until December 31^st 2007 and shall include completion of the audit for the fiscal years of 2003 – 2004 – 2005 – 2006 and 2007.

4. This by-law supercedes any previous Municipal Auditor appointments and by-law #91-1273 is hereby repealed.
