COUNCIL MEETING – FEBRUARY 27TH 2007

Held at the Township office at 5:30 pm

Guests:                   Valerie Jones; Anne Haines from MPAC – Presentation to Council on the Assessment process.

Staff:                       Mike Basso – Land Fill #1 updates and future planning

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby appoint a presiding officer for the next three council meetings while Stephen R. Rawn is away on vacation.  Chris Ellis is hereby appointed.       Carried

 

Vi Montpetit - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adopt the following minutes of meetings as circulated:

-          Council meeting of Feb.13.07

-          Sundridge – Strong Union Public Library Board meeting of Jan.18.07

-          Sundridge – Strong Recreation committee meeting of Feb.1.07

-          Strong Cemetery Board meeting of Dec.11.06 and year end financial statement      Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve the proposal by Brian Hatchkowski of Integrated Earth & Environmental Ltd. To apply for an MNR License under the Aggregate Resources Act for gravel pits at our property Con 10 Lot 31 at a cost of $4500 plus taxes                                Carried

 

Merlyn Snow – Vi Montpetit

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve that High Speed Internet is installed at the municipal office and that the costs will be at 99.95 per month for the 4 computers.                                Carried

 

Scott McLaren - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby NOT approve that an engineering study be completed for the Pool Lake culvert at an approximate cost of $12,900 plus tax as submitted by Wills Consulting Engineering.                   Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby authorize the following to attend the Parry Sound Municipal Assoc. Spring meeting on April 30th 2007 in Callander at $20 per person for:  Stephen R. Rawn; Chris Ellis; Merlyn Snow; Vi Montpetit; Diana Georgie; Sharon Sohm.  Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve a donation of $100 to the South River Figure Skating Club for the annual spring Carnival – April 1st 2007         Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve payment of the interim invoice for Audit by Michael Turner in the amount of $6996.00                Carried

 

Merlyn Snow – Vi Montpetit

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adjourn at 8:15 pm to meet again on March 13th 2007 at 5:30 pm or at the call of the presiding officer Chris Ellis.             Carried
