WHEREAS Section 11(3) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. C.25 as amended, empowers municipalities to pass by-laws, subject to the rules set out in subsection (4), respecting matters concerning Highways, including parking and traffic on highways;
AND WHEREAS Section 137 of the Highway Traffic Act, R.R.O. Chapter H.8 confers upon the councils of all municipalities the power to enact by-laws for regulating traffic on highways subject to the Highway Traffic Act;
AND WHEREAS Section 10(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O. C. 25, as amended confers upon councils of all municipalities the power to enact by-laws regarding health, safety and well-being of persons;
AND WHEREAS The Council of the Township of Strong deems it desirable to alter the direction of a stop sign.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township of Strong enacts as follows:
1. That the intersection of Ronald Road and Cheryl Crescent is designated as the intersection where a stop sign shall be altered. The Stop Sign currently located on Ronald Road heading south easterly shall be removed And shall be erected on Cheryl Crescent eastbound. Ronald Road/Cheryl Crescent easterly shall be a through road.
2. That the penalties provided in Section 214 of the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law.
3. That each designation made by Section 1 shall not become effective until stop signs have been erected in accordance with the Regulations of the Highway Traffic Act.
