WHEREAS Section 11(3) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. C.25 as amended, empowers municipalities to pass by-laws, subject to the rules set out in subsection (4), respecting matters concerning Highways, including parking and traffic on highways;
AND WHEREAS Section 137 of the Highway Traffic Act, R.R.O. Chapter H.8 confers upon the councils of all municipalities the power to enact by-laws for regulating traffic on highways subject to the Highway Traffic Act;
AND WHEREAS Section 10(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O. C. 25, as amended confers upon councils of all municipalities the power to enact by-laws regarding health, safety and well-being of persons;
AND WHEREAS The Council of the Township of Strong deems it desirable to alter the direction of a stop sign.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township of Strong enacts as follows:
1. That the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Chapman Strong Boundary Road is designated as the intersection where a stop sign shall be installed. The Stop Sign shall be located on Chapman Strong Boundary Road in the south east corner where it intersects the Bloomfield Road.
2. That the penalties provided in Section 214 of the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law.
3. That each designation made by Section 1 shall not become effective until stop signs have been erected in accordance with the Regulations of the Highway Traffic Act.
