Items:
Strategic Plan – After the Public Meeting held on August 30, 2011 council will make some changes as recommended as well as waiting for further comments regarding Agricultural initiatives. Council will present another draft at the next regular meeting.
Stirling Creek proposal was discussed by Council. Council did not have the opportunity to receive comments from the Planner for the meeting regarding the drawings. Council felt they should defer comments until they can speak to the Planner.
Granular B tender was reviewed by council and a resolution was passed.

WHEREAS Spectrum Telecom Group Ltd. (Spectrum Group) wishes
to erect a 120-foot (36.6 metre) self-support
telecommunications tower on private lands located on Lot 30, Concession 4 near
Maple Valley Road, in the Township of Strong, District of Parry Sound for the
delivery of wireless Internet, broadband data, and other services to the
surrounding area;
AND WHEREAS Spectrum Group is required by Industry Canada to
consult with the local land-use authority and to obtain a statement of
concurrence from the Municipality;
AND WHEREAS Spectrum Group is completed the required public
consultation process as mandated by Industry Canada with no concerns being
recorded;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Strong hereby gives approval to the Clerk/Treasurer to issue
a statement of concurrence to Spectrum Group for the proposed
telecommunications tower on Lot 30, Concession 4 for the delivery of broadband
wireless and other services to the area. Carried

WHEREAS, Numerous studies have shown that people living on social
assistance are subject to increased risk of chronic and infectious diseases,
And WHEREAS, local
data shows poor nutrition increases chronic and infectious diseases which cost
more to treat than to prevent,
THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED that the Township of Strong supports the introduction of an additional
$100.00 a month Healthy Food Supplement for all Ontarians living on social
assistance,
And
THAT, this be funded solely by the Province of Ontario.
And FURTHER THAT,
this resolution be forwarded to the Honourable Tony Clement, MP Parry Sound –
Muskoka, the Honourable Dalton McGuinty,
Premier of Ontario, Norm Miller, MPP Parry Sound-Muskoka and the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur,
