COUNCIL MEETING – JUNE 24TH 2008

Held at the Township office at 5:30 pm

There were no pecuniary Interests declared on the agenda material.

Be it resolved that this council does hereby adopt the following minutes of meetings as circulated:

  • Council meeting June 10th 2008
  • Strong Cemetery meeting of May 22nd 2008
  • Central Almaguin Economic Development Assoc meeting of June 12th 2008
  • Sundridge Strong Joly Arena meeting of June 5th 2008

Merlyn Snow – John Newstead

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby determine that Con 2 Lot 5 & 6 property owners deed to the Township of Strong “North Horn Lake Rd” and “Rodeo Rd”;  deed to the Township of Strong Part 12, being a road encroachment for $1; deed to the Township of Strong “Lot 4” being a lot for “Parkland” for $1; and that all roads in the Old Town Plan 19 and Plan 32 be deeded to the owners for $1 and the Standard Policy when an original Allowance for Road is sold , that it be sold for 50 cents per sq ft and that it can only be sold to adjoining owners of the property adjacent to the allowance for road  ONLY     Carried

 

Correspondence reviewed:  Totten Sims – Sundridge Wastewater Treatment Facility; SA White – Golf Lane;  Carlo Berardi – update on Police Contract; Lake Bernard Water Levels – stoplogs removal; Airport Gas Revenue;  Letter from Clear Spring Ln residents re:  roads;   Kearney – Forestry Tower Rd;  Burk’s Falls – Miles of Coins;  Severance proposal – Adams Rd.

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby enact by-law #2008 – 1574 being a by-law to set policy for road closings.  Carried

 

Chris Ellis – John Newstead

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve a donation to the Sundridge Strong Fire Dept Assoc Golf Tournament to be Held July 11/12 – 4 t-shirts & 4 hats                 Carried

 

Vi Montpetit - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve in principle the creation of one lot at Con 8 Pt. Lot 30.  The property would have to have a zoning amendment and an approval from the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority before an application is made to the Central Almaguin Planning Board.                  Carried

Be it resolved that this council does hereby accept the invitational quote from Bruell Contracting to double surface 7.9 km of roads in the Township at a total price of $231,956.82  plus GST                                    Carried

 

Merlyn Snow – John Newstead

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve a minor variance in principle for Lot 17 Plan M111 from 100’ to 66’ from the waters edge in order to build a deck on the cottage.  The clerk is authorized to proceed once the application fee is paid.  Carried

 

Vi Montpetit - Chris Ellis

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve an application for the purchase of the shore road allowance in principle for lot 17 Plan M111 in order that a 14’ deck can be built on the front of the cottage                    Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adjourn at 9:55 pm to meet again on July 8th 2008 at 5:30 pm or at the call of the Mayor Cd
