The regular meeting of the Strong Township Council was held on July 27, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. All members of Council were present.
Guests:
Gord Adams from the Lount Waste Management Committee attended the meeting. Mr. Adams discussed bringing bales of
cardboard from their landfill site to Landfill Site # 1 to be processed.
A resolution was passed by council.
Discussions took place on the following items:
-Landfill site new rates were passed , obtaining prices on a magnetic separator, a safety switch for the baler unit to protect from lightning damage, inspection of the baler unit.
-Correspondence received from SunVolts Limited regarding the placement of solar unit on municipal buildings which will create revenue for the municipality. Council felt that more information should be provided prior to making a decision at this time.
-Playground equipment was discussed. The Roads Department are working on placing the picnic tables and benches at the various parks, Park signs should be ready to install in the next few weeks, request the By-law Enforcement Officer to attend the beach areas to ensure the No Dog on Beach by-law is adhered to.
-Municipal Building renovations update there are still some issues to be resolved. The As Built drawings were submitted to the Building Department for review and issuance of a Temporary Occupancy Permit for the main floor area.

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong adopt the Minutes of the July 13, 2010 meeting as circulated.
It was noted that Vi Montpetit was not in attendance at the July 13,

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong approve the Accounts Payable as presented up to and including July 27, 2010 in the amount of $ 149,062.62 and hereby authorize the Clerk/Treasurer to issue cheques for same.

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong
hereby instructs the Clerk/Treasurer to withhold payment of accounts that refer
to the Municipal Office Renovation project until such time as all accounts are
received from various contractors for review and approval by council. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong have read and approve By-Law 2010-0023 being a by-law to prescribe a Tariff of Fees for General Government Charges for services having read the by-law the required readings;

by-law and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto. Carried

Therefore be it resolved that the Township of Strong Council approve
the purchase of a magnetic separator at a cost up to $ 14,000.00. Carried

Therefore be it resolved that the Township of Strong agree to accept
corrugated cardboard bales from the Lount Township Landfill site with
reimbursement at a rate of 50% of market value. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong do now adjourn
at 8:16 p.m. until the next regular meeting of council on August 10, 2010. Carried
