Bill deVries Zone 5 representative on the DSSAB Board attended the meeting. He presented council with an overview of DSSAB and the services they provide. He advised representative from DSSAB will be attending the Steering Committee Meeting on January 26, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the South River Arena and recommended council attend this meeting. He advised there are several issues that will affect municipalities coming in the future and these will be discussed at the meeting.

Cheer Lake Property Owners correspondence reviewed. Council will install a solar powered Stop light on Machar Strong Boundary Road eastbound at this time to slow traffic down. Council will investigate other options.

and including January 10, 2012 in the amount of $133.791.17 and hereby

Whereas the Township of Strong, Village of Sundridge and Township of Joly have advanced funds to the Medical Centre Committee to Capital expenditures of a new roof and drilled well in the 2011 year in the amount of $64,163.92 in a 50%-40%-10% split respectively.
Now Therefore the parties hereto agree that the funds will be a 0% loan with repayment of the funds advanced to be paid to the Municipalities from any available net rental income received by the Committee from the tenants of the Centre on the following proportion:
Strong 50% Sundridge 40% Joly 10%
The repayment of the funds will start following the completion of the payments of the previous loan in the amount of $61,132.12 (March 30, 2015).

Now Therefore be it resolved the Council for the Township of Strong have read the resolution circulated by the Township of Carling to support MPP Norm Millers Private Members Bill to pave highway shoulders;
And that the Council for the Township of Strong supports this Private Members bill as there are obvious health benefits for individuals to cycle and walk for recreation, or for transportation where paved shoulders are installed.
Now therefore be it resolved the Township of Strong hereby support this Private Members bill which will enhance Public Safety for the motoring public and promote active transportation in Ontario.

council is aware that the Township receives some invoices that must be paid
prior to Council meetings because of penalties for late payments.
Council
is also aware that the Treasurer pays for janitorial services bi-weekly and
employees wages every second Friday.
Council
authorizes the Treasurer to issue cheques for the above as and when required
throughout 2012. The Council also authorizes the Clerk/Treasurer to purchase
necessary stationary supplies, printing supplies and other office materials
that are required to efficiently operate the Municipal office from day to day
