The Regular meeting of the Township of Strong Council was held on August 10, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Members of Council present were:

Absent with regrets: Christine Ellis
Guests:
Neil Gufjahr, representing the Snowmobile Club. Neil advised council on the progress that has been made relocating the trails due to the new Highway construction project.
Barb and Gord Jaques attended the meeting to discuss a Minor Variance application with council. Mr. & Mrs. Jaques presented council with drawings of the property and location of a cottage to be built on their lot. A resolution was passed.
Mr. James Wright attended the meeting at the request of Council .
Ron Julien, Project Superintendent and Andrew Duszczenko, Project Manager from Carillion Canada Incorporated attended the meeting to discuss the Half Load Restriction on Rodeo Road.
Dave Pringle Road Superintendent gave a report to Council regarding work completed on the roads, update on installation of park equipment and addressed any issues brought forward by council.

That the Council for the Township of Strong adopt the Minutes of the
July 27, 2010 meeting as circulated. Carried

J. D. Newstead – Merlyn Snow:
Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong hereby approve
the Accounts Payable as presented up to and including August 10, 2010 in the
amount of $64,884.81 and hereby authorize the Clerk/Treasurer to issue cheques
for same. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong agrees that property owners Barb and Gord Jaques can apply for a Minor Variance and the Clerk is hereby authorized to begin the process once the application and the fee is paid in full.

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong accept the Tender from Wills Consulting Engineers in the amount of $3,950.00 plus HST to complete Bridge Inspections up to 7 structures, complete OSIM Forms and Reports and submit data to MDW on our behalf.

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of
Strong approve the Consent to remove trees, alter and conduct works on an
unopened road allowance application as presented by Peter & Angela Dunnett
for property located at Con 8 North Part Lot 15, PCL 8475 provided all
regulations are adhered to as set out in By-Law 2009-1597 and registered on
title. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong approve the
application in principal presented by Fred Boychuk to purchase the Shore Road
Allowance located at Part of lot 15, Concession 3. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong have read and approve By-Law 2010-0029 being a by-law to establish a joint compliance audit committee for the 2010 municipal election period having read the by-law the required readings;
And that Council for the Township of Strong authorize the Mayor and the Clerk to sign
this by-law and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto.

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong have read the application for rezoning from Yutta and Bob Savoia for property located at 1314 Pevensey Road, Lot 25, Concession 1 and accepted the required deposit fee.
Council shall submit the application to the
Municipal Planners for review. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong have read and approve By-law 2010-0030 being a by-law to delegate powers- Temporary Road Closures-Sundridge Triathlon – August 15, 2010 having read the by-law the required readings;
And that the Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized to sign this
by-law and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto. Carried

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Township of Strong hereby adjourns
at 8:55 p.m. until the next regular meeting of Council scheduled for August 24,
2010. Carried
