Sally Harper – Sundridge Strong Joly Union Public Library Chair to discuss administering the Library accounts. Sally was seeking support from the Township of Strong for administrative assistance if required. A resolution was passed by council.

Michael Hardy - acting on behalf of Mr. Everard regarding the abandoned road closure. Council reviewed the abandoned road closure by-law.

Carl Barry – Minor Variance Application. Mr. Barry called late in the afternoon to cancel his attendance at this meeting and a resolution was passed.

That the Council for the Township of Strong adopt the Minutes of the:

April 13, 2010 Meeting as circulated. Carried

2010-0101 Chris Ellis – Merlyn Snow:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong approve the Accounts Payable as presented up to and including April 27, 2010 in the amount of $ $277,992.87 and hereby authorize the Deputy Treasurer to issue cheques for same. Carried

2010-0102 Merlyn Snow – Vi Montpetit:

The Township of Strong increase the annual Landfill fees for 2010 to the Village of Sundridge and the Township of Joly by 4%. Carried

2010-0103 Merlyn Snow – Vi Montpetit:

The Township of Strong purchase a granite plaque in the amount of $1096.67 as presented from Morning Dove Monuments. Carried

2010-0104 Chris Ellis – Merlyn Snow:

The Township of Strong increase the rates for beavers caught to $ 50.00 per animal. Carried

2010-0105 Vi Montpetit – Chris Ellis:

That CAEDA be charged an administration fee of $ 100.00 a monthly to be paid to the administrating municipality. Carried

2010-0106 Chris Ellis – J.D. Newstead:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong approve donations for 2010 as follows:

Strong Cemetery Board $ 200.00

Berriedale Cemetery Board $ 300.00

Pevensey Cemetery Board $ 500.00 Carried

2010-0107 Merlyn Snow – J. D. Newstead:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of approve a donation in the amount of $100.00 to S.S.J. Youth Baseball for the 2010 season. Carried

2010-0108 J. D. Newstead – Merlyn Snow:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong have read and approve By-Law 2010-015 being a by-law to Stop Up, Close and Convey to adjoining Owners part of the Abandoned Road Allowance within their property boundary having read the by-law the required readings;

And that Council for the Township of Strong hereby authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign this by-law and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto. Carried

2010-0109 Chris Ellis – Vi Montpetit:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong have read and approve By-Law 2010-016 being a by-law to Stop Up, Close and Convey to adjoining Owners part of the Original Shore Road Allowance fronting their property having read the by-law the required readings;

And that Council for the Township of Strong hereby authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign this by-law and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto. Carried

2010-0110 Vi Montpetit – Chris Ellis:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong have reviewed the 2010-2017 being a by-law to temporarily close a portion of a street in the Township of Strong having read the by-law the required readings;

And hereby authorize the Mayor and the Clerk to sign this contract on behalf of the Township of Strong. Carried

2010-0111 J. D. Newstead – Merlyn Snow:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong have reviewed the 2010-2011 Contract Agreement for services at Landfill Site # 2 with 719406 Ontario Incorporated in the amount of $ 23,810.64 plus applicable taxes;

And hereby authorize the Mayor and the Clerk to sign this contract on behalf of the Township of Strong. Carried

2010-0112 Merlyn Snow – J. D. Newstead:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong approve Consent Application B018/B019/B020/10 Strong – Near North Campground as presented provided all standard conditions are met. Carried

2010-0113 Chris Ellis – J. D. Newstead:

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Council for the Township of Strong approve the Consent Application as presented B021/10 Strong-Stoker provided all standard conditions are met. Carried

2010-0114 Merlyn Snow – J. D. Newstead:

The Township of Strong Council shall hereby defer the application for a minor variance as presented by Carl and Linda Barry at 31 Clearspring Lane. Carried

2010-0115 Vi Montpetit – Chris Ellis:

That the Township of Strong approve payment to James R. Copeman for installation of fencing at the Landfill Site # 1 in the amount of $ 12380.00. Carried

2010-0116 Chris Ellis – Merlyn Snow:

That the Township of the Council of Strong support the Sundridge Strong Union Public Library Board in looking after their own bookkeeping and payroll and offer assistance when necessary. Carried

2010-0117 Merlyn Snow – Chris Ellis:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Council for the Township of Strong do hereby adjourn at 9:00p.m. until the next regular meeting of Council scheduled on May 11, 2010. Carried
