WHEREAS pursuant to Section 23.1(1) of the
Municipal Act,2001, c.25, as amended, General Powers to delegate its powers and
duties under this or any other Act to a person or body subject to the
restrictions set out in this Part.2006, c.32, Sch. A, s15, part.
AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 23.1(2)(5) of
the Municipal Act, 2001, c.25, as amended – Scope of Power a Municipality states
that “A delegation may be made subject to such conditions and limits as the
council of a municipality considers appropriate;
AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 23.(5)(1) –of
the Municipal Act, 2001, c. 25 as amended are examples of powers considered to
be of a minor nature: the Power to close a highway temporarily.
THE COUNCIL FOR THE CORPORATION OF
THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Council
for the Township of Strong hereby delegates authority to the Sundridge
Triathlon Committee to determine which roads shall be closed and time of
closures on Sunday August 15, 2010 as set out in Schedule A pertaining to
roads/highways under the jurisdiction of the Township of Strong.
2. That Notice of the
Road closures shall be provided to all affected property owners.
3. That Contingency Plans have been developed.
4. That all emergency
services were provided with notification in advance to locate alternative
routes.
5. That in the event
of an emergency all emergency vehicles will be provided access along the
routes.
AND THAT THIS BY-LAW SHALL TAKE
EFFECT UPON PASSING AS READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS 10TH DAY OF
AUGUST 2010
