BEING A BY-LAW TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT OF

MICHAEL D. TURNER AND HIS SUCCESSOR FIRM

PAHAPILL AND ASSOCIATES PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION

CHARTERED ACCOUNTS, AS AUDITOR OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG

WHEREAS Section 296 of the Municipal Act, 2001, Part VII, requires a Municipality to appoint a Municipal Auditor;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Strong confirms that Michael D. Turner has been the municipal auditor for many years, currently serves in that post and has given notice of his intention to merge his practice with another firm, Pahapill and Associates Professional Corporation, Chartered Accountants;

AND WHEREAS the Municipality sees value in preserving the existing stable relationship with Michael D. Turner and he has agreed to remain with the new firm for a minimum of four years and to continue as the principal person in the firm responsible for the Township of Strong’s audit file;

NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STRONG ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. The Appointment of Michael D. Turner as Municipal Auditor with a term of the appointment shall be until December 31^st 2011, which shall include completion of the audit for the fiscal years of 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

2. Upon the receipt of written notice from the said Michael D. Turner that he has closed his separate practice as a Chartered Accountant; joined the new firm of Pahapill and Associates Professional Corporation, Chartered Accountants, shall be deemed to be the Municipal Auditor of the Corporation of the Township of Strong for the purpose of conducting and completing all matters for the period prescribed in paragraph one, hereof.
