Be it resolved that this Council does hereby agree that in accordance with the Municipal Act Section 239 (2.b.) council moves to a closed session meeting at 6:18 pm in order to address a matter allowed for a closed session meeting.                      Carried

 

Chris Ellis - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby agree to move out of closed session at 6:30 pm and return to the Regular meeting agenda.                      Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve payment of the following December 2008 accounts:

Council reviewed the Preliminary December 2008 budgets for Roads and General.  Final Budgets will be presented after the audit in February.  The February Newsletter has been amended and is now ready for the Interim Tax Bills.  Correspondence reviewed:  MPAC – Current Value; Kathleen Tod – Burk’s Falls Health Centre; Stacey Whaley – meeting at Northridge; East Ferris/Bonfield – relief fund; Primer on Planning; roof shingles;  Twp Armour – OP review; Ryerson- Municipal Health & Safety; EMS – Defibrillator;  JBC reports for Dec/08;  Kearney; AMO – Gas Tax for 2010-2013;  Deputy Minister of Tourism;

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby authorize the clerk to proceed with the road closing procedure for the Colonization Road and costs for the Ad, Legal transfer and Admin fee to be paid by the land owner.                       Carried

 

Vi Montpetit - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby support the resolution from the Town of Kearney regarding the Burk’s Falls and District Health Centre passed on Dec. 10th 2008.                                                                                     Carried

 

John Newstead - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby support the resolution presented at the CAEDA meeting that petitions the MNR to initiate a restocking program for Lake Bernard, Eagle Lake and other lakes in the Central Almaguin Area.   Carried

Be it resolved that this council does hereby agree to turn over the net fine monies collected through charges laid by the fire dept. in the Township of Strong to the Sundridge Strong Fire Department – General Revenues                              Carried

 

Vi Montpetit - Merlyn Snow

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby set a price of $250 per ½ ton load of asbestos waste disposed at Land Fill #1 from outside the boundaries of Strong, Sundridge, and Joly.                                                                                    Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adjourn at 9:40 pm to meet again on January 27th 2009 or at the call of the mayor.                Carried
