Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adopt the following minutes of meetings as circulated:

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby support the Central Almaguin Economic Development Assoc. in submitting an application to FedNor and to the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund for funding in order to hire a consulting firm to prepare a Strategic Plan for Economic Development in the Central Almaguin Area and that the Village of Sundrige be authorized to make application as the lead municipality on behalf of the Villages of South River and Sundridge and the Townships of Machar and Strong                    Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby reject the proposed Apportionments submitted at the Bi-Council meeting of Sept.16.08                                                                                Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby reject the proposed Apportionments submitted at the Tri Council meeting of Sept 16.08                                                                            Carried

 

Merlyn Snow – John Newstead

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve the accounts for September 2008 as follows:  Road a/c $105,340.09;  General a/c $238,780.17; Payroll a/c $41,515.89              Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve payment of the final levy for the SSJ Arena in the amount of $22,600.75                                                                                                Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve payment of a wolf kill – goat claim of $135.00 and hereby authorize the clerk to submit an application for a grant of the same amount.    Carried

Whereas the Generation of solid waste and the needless waste of water and energy resources are recognized as global environment problems and Whereas municipal governments have an important role to play in promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting and other conservation measures, and Whereas communities, businesses and organizations across Canada have committed to working together to raise awareness of these issues during Waste Reduction Week in Canada.  The Township of Strong does hereby Proclaim October 19th to October 25th 2008 as Waste Reduction Week                                                       Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby approve a donation to the 2008 Poppy Campaign in the amount of $50 for the purchase of a wreath for the Remembrance Day Service                         Carried

 

Chris Ellis – John Newstead

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby authorize the clerk to attend the October 23rd zone meeting of the Assoc. Of Municipal Clerks & Treasurers at Nipissing Twp and approve payment of the $55 fee to attend.  Carried

Be it resolved that this Council does hereby adjourn at 9:35 pm to meet again on October 28th 2008 at 5:30 pm or at the call of the Mayor                                                                     Carried
